Happiness Is Contagious

In studies reported in the  British Medical Journal and referred to in an associated press article by Maria Cheng published December 5, 2008, researchers  found that happiness is contagious.  People carry and spread it.

Harvard professor of Sociology, Nicholas Christakis and co-author of the study says, Whether you’re happy depends not just on your actions and behaviors and thoughts, but on those of people you don’t even know.”  The study found a closer relationship between your happiness and your friends than between your happiness and your money.  Your happiness is more likely to be found in your friends than in your wealth.

These studies underscores the message of my book, Invisible Imprint: What Others Feel When in Your presence.   In that book I focus on the unnique ability of human beings to create a prescence over time that they bring into their relationships with other people.

Presence is formally defined as, “…the invisible impact of a person, place or thing.”  Everybody has a presence…an invisible impact they have on others.  Your presence is the product of your choice over time.  That presence attracts othe people to you or repels them from you.

If other people could be honest with you, how would they describe what they experience when in your presence?  Can you change the nature of your presence? Can you alter the intensity of your presence?

If these question pique your interest you will find my book very practical and helpful in pursuing their answers.  You can order it at: www.drdobbins.com.  The book is also contained in a workbook that is excellent for use by small study groups, Chrisstian Education programs and for personal spiritual growth and development.
